Chrysalis Centre for Change support Pilks Women FC at their 3-1 win against Marine WFC

Pilkington Women put in a fine performance against Marine to earn another 3 points in the Liverpool Women’s and Youth League.

A solid team performance showcased how far the women’s team has come in recent months. A goal in the 31st minute, scored by Nicole Franey and assisted by May Mallon, saw Pilks take the lead and Pilks went into half-time still a goal ahead.

The home side came straight out of the gates to get another two goals within five minutes in the 59th and 66th minutes. Emma Donegan scored the second and Nicole Franey scored the third – with both players assisting the other.

The team were cheered on by representatives from the Chrysalis Centre for Change (CCC), who they had fundraised for back in their takeover weekend in December.

Julie Roby, Manager of CCC said of the teams fundraising:

“We are so grateful to have such an amazing team of positive inspiring women raising money for us, and also raising awareness for mental health in general, amazing things happen when we come together and work towards a common goal…or goals! Fabulous team, amazing role models, thank you!”

The team look forward to continuing to develop the relationship with CCC and hope to do more fundraising events for them.
